By every measure the number of young people playing the card game bridge is rising. Young people are enjoying the FUN, making FRIENDS and the FIENDISH game of bridge.

NUMBERS AT FACE TO FACE EVENTS ARE ON THE UP

All you need is 4 youngsters and

douglaswright@3countiesbridge.com will come and give the youngsters a Free Taster session of playing cards and Minibridge.

Another School Taster Session for 120 pupils was on 17 July at Boxgrove Primary in Guildford.

At the Surrey Schools Cup in February, 150 young players participated. We are expecting 200 on 6 February 2026.

There are Spring, Summer and Autumn Youth Camps. The Autumn Youth Camp is 31 October - 2 November 2025 at Juniper Hall, Dorking Surrey RH5 6DA. All levels welcome including new players, and parents and grandparents can come too.

♠ You can help us rekindle interest in Schools bridge.  Prior to the pandemic we provided teachers and supervisors to support the establishment of bridge sessions in schools across the counties; the events of the past few years meant these sessions went into decline. 

♠ We would like to provide Taster Sessions in schools / sixth form colleges with the aim of starting a Bridge Club. We have started 5 Bridge Clubs in Schools during the 2024 / 2025. We hope to identify another 5 more schools / sixth form colleges so that we can run Taster Sessions in the Autumn Term 2025.

How you can help (1): if you have a contact in a school and/or a son or daughter, or grandson or granddaughter in a school, and would like to help identify which schools would like to have a Taster Session, then please RSVP as soon as possible to douglaswright@3countiesbridge.com.

How you can help (2): We would also like to run a course for all interested bridge players on "How to Teach Bridge in Schools". That could be you!  No previous experience required. Once again contact douglaswright@3countiesbridge.com with your interest, no matter how tentative.

♥ We would also like to identify any school teacher, who would like to be involved, and we provide fun evenings for school teachers.

♥ We hope to run the ‘How to Teach Bridge in Schools" courses in various regions.

There are lots of teachers available to teach Minibridge in Schools / or to teach youngsters as part of a comprehensive programme for introducing Minibridge and Bridge to school pupils and creating various school bridge clubs.
