ANNUAL AWARDS
Unit 533's Annual Awards Program was held on Sunday March 16th at Duncan Bridge Center. The Winners of the 2024 Mini-McKenney and Helen Shanbrom Ace of Clubs Awards were announced, as well as the Winner of the Barbara Sonsoni Memorial Trophy and Unit 533's Volunteer of the Year Award.

This year, the Unit honored Guy Brackett as our Volunteer of the Year for his unceasing dedication to our bridge community as President of the Coachella Valley Bridge Foundation. The Barbara Sonsoni Memorial Trophy for the Unit's top Masterpoint winner in the Intermediate/Novice competitions at the Palm Springs Regional was presented to David Combs. Several years ago, Bruce Ferguson donated this trophy in memory of his partner and friend Barbara Sonsoni, to be presented annually.
