Farnham Bridge Club is regarded as one of the premier clubs in the area with members from other towns in the Waverley Borough, West Surrey and North East Hampshire. It is affiliated to the Surrey County Bridge Association (SCBA) and the English Bridge Union (EBU). Visitors and potential new members are always welcome. Members can enjoy playing duplicate Contract Bridge in accordance with the EBU rules and EBU membership is now included.
Bridge is currently being played online using RealBridge for our main club sessions (see notice on the right for details). BCL can be used for those who wish to play individual pairs or club league games.

SYLVIA ROSE 2025/2026
The Sylvia Rose is Farnham Bridge club's premier teams’ event. This year the Club will be holding it in Mike O’Donnell’s memory. He was our longstanding and excellent Match Secretary and sadly passed away earlier this year.
Captains are requested to submit your team entries to John Clayton (longbarrow.clayton@yahoo.co.uk and
Simon Foale (simonjohnfoale@gmail.com) by Friday 5 September 2025.
Teams should consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 players; they must all be members of Farnham Bridge Club. In exceptional circumstances a team may play one non-member once and only once during the competition. We of course welcome players to join the club.
The Sylvia Rose will run from October 2025 to March 2026. Depending on the number of teams that enter, the competition will be organised either as:
An all play all (up to 12 Teams entered and therefore playing up to 11 matches).
Or in two Divisions of 6 (or more) teams with the top three teams promoted into the main Final and the remaining teams placed in the Plate competition (if 13 or more teams enter).
Matches should be played on the Wednesday evenings as set aside in our club diary and set out below; there will be no RealBridge pairs on these dates. If teams cannot play on one of these Wednesdays, then an alternative date may be arranged by mutual agreement.
October 15 and 29, November 12 and 26, December 10, January 14 and 28, February 11 (Main Final and Plate with 12 teams would complete) and
25 March 11 and 25 (if required).
Matches will be on RealBridge and can be over 20 or 24 boards, with auto-switch at half time. The maximum time for 12 boards is 80 minutes, for 10 boards is 70 minutes. Penalties may be applied if one team is very slow exceeding the 70 or 80-minute time limits.
The charge will be £1 per person per match.

RealBridge IMPORTANT INFORMATION |
1. If you LOSE YOUR LINK or you have to switch device during the session, You MUST login with the SAME "FULL NAME", this includes capital letters i.e "jane" or even "jane Doe" instead of "Jane Doe" will not let you back in.
2. If you LOSE YOUR LINK permanently in the first half of the match, your scores are all removed from the session and you will not appear in the final ranking lists.
3. If you LOSE YOUR LINK permanently in the second half of the match, you retain your scores on the played boards but you will score just 40% on all the boards you miss, your opponents will score 60%.
4. UNDOs. NOT permitted during play. UNDO's permitted during bidding for misclicks or late alerts & not for change of mind or inattention."
5. RB matches on Mondays that have 12 or more tables will have both North/South and East West winners and will have a random start. Wednesday matches will continue to have only 1 winner and will not have a random start.
6. As a courtesy to others, at the beginning of each round, please PASTE your basic system in the chatbox. First Copy (ctrl/C) and then Paste (ctrl/V) everytime a new pair appears at your table.

FBC MEMBERS WELCOMED at BOURNE BRIDGE CLUB FARNHAM |
Farnham Bridge club members are invited to play bridge with The Bourne Bridge Club Farnham F2F on Thursday evenings.
Details for Bourne Bridge Club Farnham: F2F evenings are held in the hall of the Methodist Church, central Farnham. Start time is 7pm, with a view to finish by 10pm.
The venue can happily accommodate at least 15 tables, is light and airy, has excellent kitchen facilities for tea/coffee making, is just 50 yards or so walk from Sainsbury's central car park (part of the Spire church in South Street, Farnham, on the same side of the road as Sainsbury), and has good disabled access and toilet facilities.
