National Handicap Pairs Championship
Sunday 7th September
11:00am
|
 |
We are running a heat of the National Handicap Pairs Championship on Sunday 7th September. This will be a social event starting at 11:00am, please arrive by 10:45am. There will be a substantial finger buffet lunch, including wine or soft drinks, at approximately 1:00pm, followed by another short bridge session. We should finish by 4:00pm at the latest. Cost £15 per person.
We hope that members from all sessions will enter as results are based on Handicap, so everyone has a good chance of doing well. It is a SIM pairs event too, meaning you can test your skills against members at several other clubs who will be playing the same boards.
A Harrogate pair won overall last year so it would be great if we could repeat that.
Please complete a booking form for EACH person wishing to attend - BOOK HERE and pay £15 pp to a committee member. There will also be a sign-up sheet in the bar.

Dates for the Yorkshire League 2025-2026:
19th October
2nd November
23rd November
7th December
WINTER BREAK
15th February
8th March
29th March
The teams will consist of 8 players, playing against other Yorkshire teams, with home and away fixtures and the matches are played on a Sunday afternoon against players of roughly the same standard.
It would be very helpful if we could have an indication of how many members would like to participate in the Yorkshire League this season by 16th July.
Please email me: catherine.harrogate@gmail.com saying if you wish to play and who would be your partner. If you would like to play but have no partner please let me know and we will try and match you up with another player.

Welcome |
We are a welcoming and friendly bridge club catering for players of all standards. We run six pairs sessions per week. Master points are awarded. We also have classes for beginners and intermediates, and occasional instruction on specific topics.
For the more competitive players we have three teams in the Yorkshire Sunday League. Many of our players also group together to make teams of four that play in the Harrogate and District Bridge League against more local opposition.
Harrogate Bridge Club is located in the centre of this beautiful spa town. The club has its own private licensed premises and is well established with over 250 members.
Visiting pairs are always made welcome.

EBU Rule Changes 2023 |

From 7th August 2023
The EBU has introduced some new alerting, announcing and bidding rules.
The content of these books applies to all events held on or after 7th August 2023. Please be tolerant of players who don’t get all the updated procedures exactly right straight away – it’s meant to be an exercise in informing your opponents of your methods, not an excuse for trying to get one over on them!

Best Behaviour at Bridge |
The committee would like to take this opportunity to remind players that 'Best Behaviour at Bridge' must be adhered to at all times. This is essential to ensure that all our members enjoy their games of bridge. Please take the time to read the new 'Best Behaviour at Bridge' statement from the EBU. Click here to go to the tab.
