Mississauga Local Sectional

MObridge will be hosting the Mississauga Local Sectional on November 8 & 9.  This is our first local sectional.  Lots of Silver Points.  The flyer is below and on our website.  Saturday November 8 will be a pairs event with an Open and 750 limited game.  Sunday November 9 will be a Swiss team event.  Our table count is limited.  Sign up sheets will be on the bulletin board this week.  You can also sign up through the website (final glitches being dealt with).  Come out an make this a truly outstanding event.

IMP Pairs Double Session Game - Selection for our clubs' representatives at the Golden Horseshoe Tournament

This game is to help select the teams to represent MObridge at the Golden Horseshoe Interclub Tournament on September 21^st.  We need pairs to make up four teams - Open, less than 3500 MPs, Non-Life-Master(NLM) and less than 200MPs.  This game is open to all and single session entries are welcome.

When:     Sunday September 7

Session times:  10.00am and 2.00pm

Cost:   $6/player per session

MObridge will host the Golden Horseshoe Tournament 

We will be hosting the  Golden Horseshoe Tournament on Sunday September 21. .The famous Golden Horseshoe Trophy & bragging rights for the winning club are at stake! Four other clubs have agreed to join the tournament.

Four Teams from each club will play in 4 different brackets. Two round robin sessions for each bracket. Trophy goes to club with highest combined total across all their team  Teams only play against other teams in their bracket.

The four brackets are:  Open,  under 3500 MPs, Non-Life Masters, Under 200 MPs

Let’s explore negative doubles, redoubles, takeout doubles, support doubles and support redoubles, lead directing doubles, penalty doubles and redoubles.
Cues and Controls – Part 1                    October 22                   Cost $35
Cue bids (bidding the opponent’s suit) are handy little toys to add to your repertoire. There are several different uses of these which help us more clearly describe the cards we hold and find out more about our partner’s cards.
Transfers on Steroids -Part 1                October 29                   Cost $35
How to handle these over 1 NT openers -a) 5 card majors weak, invitational or game forcing. (reviewed but it’s assumed players already know this), b) 5-5 card major holdings (weak, invitational, forcing), c) 5-4 major suit holdings (weak, inv., forcing), d) includes the introduction of the Smolen convention

Saturday morning 0-99 game

The Saturday morning 0-99 game will restart on September 13.  Game fees are $5 as we restart this game.  Please join us if you can.  

Game limit changes -Effective September 1

Monday Evening 0-1500 will change to an Open game.  The 0-99 game remains unchanged.
Wednesday Evening 0-499 will change to a 0-750 (no life masters)
Friday Afternoon 0-1500 will change to 0-1000 (pair average)
