500 and Under Pro-Am-Am-Am Swiss!
On 3rd Tuesdays in July and August, we're going to offer a new Swiss option for our 500-and-under players. This will be an opportunity to learn from a "pro" player (1500+ masterpoints) and enjoy a Swiss team game at the same time! This type of game is based on a concept developed by Joe Meyers at the HHI club. Everybody had a BLAST! We are still working out the details, but - we need to know how many players are interested. The basics are this:
Gather a team of 3 players with 500 or less points each. Or - sign up as an individual or pair, and we will assign you to a team.
We will assign a "pro" player to your team.
The game will consist of 3 rounds of 8 boards each; the pro will play one round with each of the "amateurs".
Ample time will be allowed for discussion of the boards after each round.
This Swiss opportunity will be held alongside a regular Open Pairs game at the same time.
We need the players who are under 500 to sign up so that we can assign pros. You need not find a group of players, you need only to express your own interest and we will fill the teams.
