| 2025 Tournament - President's Message |
Thank you to all our members who assisted with the 2025 bridge tournament. I am pleased to report that the tournament was a huge success. Attendees from out of town praised the hospitality, organization, and welcoming environment by our club. Though finances have not yet been finalized, we expect a significant profit for our club.
Special thanks to Phil Smith for his work organizing the tournament and to Birte Ayer and Marlene Steele for overseeing hospitality. To all those who donated cash or brought food, thank you. Additionally, a special mention must go to those who helped with arranging partnerships, hospitality, set up, and clean up.
Our club's success is due to our members' kindness and generosity, and this was highlighted by this event. Thank you for making it possible.

| NEW ACBL CERTIFIED GAME DIRECTOR AT PBC |
The Board of Directors on behalf of all our members thanks Marlene Steele for becoming an ACBL Director. Marlene recently passed the ACBL Club Director Test and is now certified to run local club games. Well done and thank you Marlene!

| NEW Summer Bridge Lessons for Teens (click here for further information) |
Come have fun and challenge yourself at the Peterborough Bridge Club. Dalia is an accredited Bridge teacher who is offering free weekly lessons this summer for teens. The lessons start on Wednesday July 3rd from 6:30 -8:30. Please see the attached poster for further information. The poster includes a QR code which will link you to an Instagram account.

| Our Duplicate Bridge Games |
The following is a list of our games. If you are a member of our club, the cost to play* is $9.00 per game (or buy a 3-play ticket for $25.00). If you are not a member of our club, costs are 11.00 per play. Coffee/tea is included. Bring a partner and please arrive at least 15 minutes before the game start time to allow our Directors sufficient time to set up the game. * Cash only please.
Regularly scheduled games:
Monday 1:00 PM – There are two games that are offered, which play at the same time. Under 100MP - Both players must have under 100MP. (Generally fewer Boards are played which allows more time for play per Board. Cost for this game is only $6.00) and an Open game – this game is open to all players
Tuesday 1:00 PM –Two players with under 750MP may play in this game. PBC Board has decided to allow players with over 750MP to play in the Tuesday game as long as they play with a player with UNDER 750MP.
Wednesday 1:00 PM Open Game - This game is open to all players.
Wednesday Night Game -Cancelled until further notice
Thursday 1:00 PM Similar to the Tuesday game, players with over 750MP may play in this game as long as they play with a player with UNDER 750MP. Two Players with 0-750 MP may play in this game.
Friday 1:00 PM Open Game – this game is open to all players
Special games:
Saturday Birthday Game - Birthday games are held the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 PM. This is an Open Game. All Bridge Club members with birthdays in the month play for free. Birthday cake and fruit for all!

| Our Bridge Lessons |
The Peterborough Bridge Club recognizes the important role that bridge lessons play in attracting new members to the game of duplicate bridge and to our club. We have gifted teachers who provide lessons and share their knowledge and time.
Beginner Bridge Lessons - Exercise your mind, meet new friends, and have some fun
Maureen Nichols provides beginner bridge lessons on Monday morning at the club. Maureen is a master of the game and successful teacher of hundreds of students, most of whom quickly learn to love the game and become members of the club. These lessons are designed to teach bridge to players new to the game or players wishing to refresh and update their skills. For further information please call Maureen at 705-874-6019 or email her at mo.nichols13@gmail.com. The lessons cost $6.00 per class.
Maureen also leads Play and Learn classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 - 11:00 AM (costs are $6.00 per class). These classes are designed for players who have learned the basics and wish to practice their bidding and play of the hand. The format for the Play and Learn sessions are a short refresher lesson followed by a fun bridge game with instructors available to answer questions. Please contact Maureen for further details.
Friday Morning Lessons -Improve your bidding and play of the hand!
Dwight Goden has been teaching bridge at the club for a number of years. He is a gold master and an accredited ACBL teacher. If you have the basics of bridge and want to improve your bidding, knowledge of conventions, defense, and play of the hand, you should consider taking Dwight's classes. Costs are $6.00 per class. For further information please contact Dwight . The classes usually have a 1/2 hour lesson followed by playing boards related to the lesson.
