Shadwell Open On-line Autumn Series  – Competition Rules

The rules for the Shadwell Open On-line Autumn Series are as follows.

1. It is an Open competition, so anyone can enter.  Entrants must have rated themselves as Novice, Beginner or Intermediate on BBO and have a tournament completion rate of 95% or above. Players with a BBO ranking of above 7 will be allowed to play but will not be eligible for Prizes.

2. The competition will be played over 4 rounds running from September to December. There will be one round a month, usually on the second Monday of each month.

3. Handicaps

Pairs will be handicapped based on last years average percentage performance.

If you averaged 53.15% last year your handicap for this year will be -3. If you averaged 43.15% last year your handicap for this year will be 7.Your partnership average handicap will be added to your percentage score.

Any incomers will be assigned handicaps by the Competition Committee.

4. To qualify for the prizes, you need to play in at least 3 rounds with the same partner, your best 3 scores counting.

5. Points will be awarded after each of the four evenings according to your handicapped position.

6. The following prizes will be awarded to the pairs with the best overall points scores from their best 3 rounds.

1st 10 BBO$ each

2nd 6 BBO$ each

3rd 3 BBO$ each

7. In the event of a tie, the prize will be shared equally.

8. In the event of any dispute regarding the competition the decision of the Shadwell Bridge Club Committee will be final.
