Entries have now opened for the Championship Teams green pointed event taking place at Newcastle Bridge Club on Sunday 18th May, starting at 11:15 a.m.
This is an event open to all full members of Staffordshire & Shropshire Contract Bridge Association (eligibility via membership of an affiliated club or direct via the EBU or by paying the £5 County affiliation fee). Click here for the poster/entry form.

This is an event open to full members of Staffordshire & Shropshire Contract Bridge Association (via playing membership of an affiliated club or payment of County membership fee). An afternoon of bridge with approximately 24-28 boards, dependant on numbers, 1:45 for a 2 p.m. start. to be played at Radbrook Community Centre, SY3 6DZ. Click here for entry details.

With all matches completed on 14th April, the Seymour team have won the league and the Yardley team are second - only one vp between them - many congratulations both teams for full results see here.

The national final was played on RealBridge over weekend April 12th/13th, 7 Staffs & Shrops players qualified to take part, best placed the Midland regional winners, Robin and Dave coming 15th ahead of SSCBA captain and his regular partner David, See overall results.
Some 16 players from Staffs and Shrops took part in the Midlands Counties regional heat played on 23rd March for the EBU National Pairs competition following achieving a score of 55% or better in a club event during the period 2nd to 15th February 2025. Winners of this regional heat were regular MCOL players, Stafford members Robin Adey and Dave Nelson, pictured here, many congratulations both. Several others qualified to enter the finals. .

| MCOL/Dawes season completed for 2024/25 |
The season came to an end on Sunday 9th March against Derbyshire. A thank you from Paul to all who have played throughout the season and who have made themselves available for selection. | Newcastle Events |

Newcastle have a BBO session on a Tuesday evening, starting at 6.30, everybody is welcome – Directed by Martin Aherne, details are on the Newcastle BC website. We have been having around 10 or 11 tables followed by a zoom chat for the beginners /intermediates to talk about interesting hands just been played!

An online Intermediates course (using Zoom & BBO) has started on a Monday evening, run by Martin, details on the website.

We have just started a second playing session on a Sunday evening, starting at 6.30, using RealBridge, with around 8 tables so far. This is directed by Neil Morley, details on the website.
