Congratulations to Jan & Sue who joined the 70% Club on Friday 23rd May. They scored 71.67% beating their nearest rivals by 5.42%. A great afternoon’s play well done.

 A poor week for slams this week with only two small slams bid and no movement on the ladder - as of w/e 23/5/25 - 1st still is Barry with 17 pts, 2nd Brian with 14 pts and 3rd is Janet C with 10 pts.  Joint 4th are John T & Maaike with 8pts and joint 6th now are Alice, Len, Janet H and Bill & Audrey with 7 pts.

A quieter week at the club last week – after our VE Day Tournament and AGM but still busy. We welcomed back Elva, Marie Christine, Alain and Allan, and our visitor Loes. It was also lovely to welcome Jutta back to the club on Friday. A little bird has told me our dear friend Bart will be returning from Oz over the next couple of weeks.

At last, we had an addition to the 70% club last week – well done to Anne Lise and Sue with a score of 73.21% on Wednesday; perhaps we may have a grand slam this week!!

Our dear member Brian had a fall at home and badly broke his arm – he went to hospital on Wednesday and latest update as of Saturday he was being kept in for observation – our thoughts are with you Brian.

We held social bridge last Thursdays with 3 full tables, another session on the 22^nd – everyone welcome, including visitors, for a friendly game of bridge – start at 2pm finish at 5pm – partner NOT needed.

Don’t forget our Quiz night this Saturday the 24^th of May – fully booked. Each table to cater for themselves.

Our summer party is now at Javea Golf Club on the 7^th of June – sign-up sheet and menu choices are available on the notice board.

If you have any signs of a cold or a cough, please stay away from the Club – we have several vulnerable members. Also, we would remind you to dress accordingly - bring a cardigan, jacket, or shawl.

Bridge bookings for w/c 19^th & 26^th May are now open – slots available - you can e-mail the Club, use the sign-up sheets in the Clubhouse or TURN UP WITH A PARTNER BEFORE 2.00 LATEST. If you have signed up, please be at the club by 2.15pm.

Janet’s cards are for sale, in aid of "Caritas", at the Club and she has recently re-stocked her cards at Polly’s Book shop in the Port. 

Jávea School of Bridge and Social Club (JSBSC) holds duplicate tournaments currently every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons commencing promptly at 2.30pm.  Doors open at 1.30pm.

We ask that players arrive by the latest 2.15pm thus leaving the Director and Scorer sufficient time to establish and set up the movement for a prompt start at 2.30pm. We have a dealing machine for generating computer dealt hands and also have wireless tablets using ArcScorer.

The tournaments are conducted in the English language and to EBU Guidelines.

We are a multi-national club with Spanish, British, Dutch, German, French, Belgian, Norwegian, Swedish, Austrian, Canadian, Danish and Swiss members - play is in English. 

We are proud of our reputation for being a friendly club and extend a very warm welcome to visitors.
