Firstly, hope you are all coping with the extreme temperatures we are all experiencing wherever you are in Europe – unfortunately air con is NOT the norm in the UK. Luckily plenty of sport to watch over the last couple of weeks and bridge on-line.

We had excellent news this week with the Plusvalia tax being returned to our bank account – many thanks to Manny in pursuing our claim and Keith for chasing the Town Hall and the bank.

We will ONLY be open on Mondays and Fridays during July and August with so many of our members away. Also, with so many of our committee members away please arrive early and help set up the room and, also clear up afterwards.

If you have any signs of a cold or a cough, please stay away from the Club – we have several vulnerable members. Now the hot weather is with us the aircon WILL be ON – please bring an extra layer for those that feel the cold.

Bridge bookings for w/c 21^st & 28^th July are now open – slots available - you can e-mail the Club, use the sign-up sheets in the Clubhouse or TURN UP WITH A PARTNER BEFORE 2.00 LATEST. If you have signed up, please be at the club by 2.15pm.

The following have birthdays late July – happy birthday to John Taylor on the 29^th and Maggie on the 31^st.

Janet’s cards are for sale, in aid of "Caritas", at the Club and she has recently re-stocked her cards at Polly’s Book shop in the Port. 

Jávea School of Bridge and Social Club (JSBSC) holds duplicate tournaments currently every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons commencing promptly at 2.30pm.  Doors open at 1.30pm.

We ask that players arrive by the latest 2.15pm thus leaving the Director and Scorer sufficient time to establish and set up the movement for a prompt start at 2.30pm. We have a dealing machine for generating computer dealt hands and also have wireless tablets using ArcScorer.

The tournaments are conducted in the English language and to EBU Guidelines.

We are a multi-national club with Spanish, British, Dutch, German, French, Belgian, Norwegian, Swedish, Austrian, Canadian, Danish and Swiss members - play is in English. 

We are proud of our reputation for being a friendly club and extend a very warm welcome to visitors.
