The open team was Jeff Smith/Mike Nicholson, Sue Woodcock/Neil Kenyon, Andrew Lum/David Costich, Nick Woodcock/Sue Fjortoft, Rick Bentley & Paul Hepworth, Bob Loveridge & Nick Sutcliffe. NIck Woodcoc & Sue Fjortoft were the best Lancashire pair on cross-imps.
The Jack High team was Helen Dent & Ian Edwards, Steve Bentley & Ken Broadbent, Julie Adshead & Paul Worswick, Philip Meadowcroft & Judy Brearley, Sue Kirk & Paul Likely, Marilyn Blake & Rob Burnside. Sue & Paul were by far the best pair on cross-imps.
Thanks to David Sarabowski for directing and to Irene Davies for organising, especially for organising the lunch. Everyone enjoyed the event.
A very exciting hand from the match. Partner opens 1H and you hold AKJ10875432, void, A6, A !! At our table it just when 1H - 4N - 5D -7S. Partner held the KD which was enough! (Kxxxx Kxx KQxxx) It helps to know ones methods but unfortunately one pair in the open team had a bidding accident reaching 3S after the auction 1H-1S-2C-3S.
Results are on the Manchester events site.
