May Team Games |
Friday is our 8=E Swiss team game. Players are assigned a general strength number based on their accumulated master points. 1's are 0-400, 2's are 400-1500, and 3's are 1500+. Your team may consist only of four players whose strength numbers total less than or equal to eight (3311, 3221, 2222, etc.).
There will be winners in A, B, and C, just as there are for our pair games.
At this time, we have 8 full teams.
We will use BridgeMates to score this game. That means easier scoring, less waiting between rounds, and less confusion about which table you should be moving to.
See you Friday.

Mentoring Pairs |
First Mentor photo by Hilary Woodward
Each year from May through August we offer an informal mentoring program. We designate three games each month through the period as special mentor games. While these games are also open games (anyone may play), we encourage mentoring pairs to play on these days if they can.
Special mentoring games are:
Tue 5/6, Wed 5/21, Fri 5/23
Wed 6/4, Tue 6/17, Fri 6/27
Tue 7/8, Wed 7/16, Fri 7/25
Fri 8/15, Wed 8/20, Tue 8/26
This is an informal program. Mentors have received no special training and are volunteering their time and advice. Mentoring pairs should discuss what they will work on before getting started. Mentors should limit their advice to only these areas and should offer their advice in a kind and helpful manner.
These games are open games and lessons given at the table are rude to your opponents. Please plan to offer your advice about opportunities for learning at an interaction away from the table, perhaps after the game or in some other setting designated by the pair's mutual convenience.
Greg is our chairperson again this year. If you would like to participate, please contact Greg.
Thanks to all the participating pairs:
Anne / Joe
Arlene / Cindy
Bill / Peggy
Diane / Cordell
Jack / Dave
Michael / Greg
Sue / Henry
