Pro-am Pairs on Wed 18th June |
The Pro-Am event that we ran in March was a great success, so much so that we've decided to run Pro-Am events on a semi-regular basis - 3 or 4 times a year. The next Pro-Am Pairs is on Wednesday 18th June, at 7.15pm at the club. For those who are unfamiliar with this type of event, this is where we pair a player with a higher NGS (a pro) with a player with a lower NGS (an am). We have already recruited the pros, and are now opening the event to entries from the ams. There are a limited number of spaces, so if you'd like to play, please put your entry in as soon as possible! Deadlline for entries: Sunday 15th June.

John Deech Challenge Pairs - Winners |
Many congratulations to Martin Illingworth, who has won the John Deech Challenge Pairs competition, run on 4th Wednesday evenings between September and May. He will be awarded with the trophy at the AGM. Amr El-Kashef came second. Juliette Riehl wins the prize for the highest placed player with an NGS of under 10. Very well done to all. All three will receive cash prizes at the AGM. Click here to view the final ladder. Click here for further details of the John Deech Challenge Pairs.
John Deech has very kindly agreed to continue to sponsor 4th Wednesday evenings over the summer months, so we will be providing free refreshments (wine, beer, soft drinks and nibbles) and cash prizes during June, July and August. Do come along and join us for a sociable evening of bridge.

New Relaxed Session Starting 1st May |
A new Relaxed Session is being launched on Thursday evenings to run along side the Supervised Play. The Relaxed Session will be for players who want to improve their game but don't feel confident enough to play in a full club session.
Bridge for All students will receive 5 vouchers to attend either the Relaxed Session or Supervised Play free of charge. For anyone else wishing to join either group the fee is £4. This will give new and returning players an ideal opportunity to get used to playing at the club in a non-competitive environment. Do come and join us, you don't need to book just turn up.
