We have looked at the financial forecast for the club and realise that due to the slight decrease in table numbers this year, that we will be running at a loss. The committee have discussed this, and we have decided to increase our Annual membership fee to £10. The Annual membership is due on 1st October. Please note that even if you only play in our online teams and don’t come to the club nights, you are still requested to pay this.

The next quarterly payment is also due on 1^st October, and it will be £25. This will cover October, November and December. If you want to pay when you play, then this is still £3.00.

So, if you pay the quarterly amount, please add on the £10 and transfer £35. Cash on a Monday evening is acceptable as well.

Stoke Mandeville Bridge Club

We have had a very good response for our second Bridge Weekend and there are 38 people attending so far. We can accommodate a few more if you would like to join us. The details are on our website, or please speak with Lesley or me

We held this on Monday 14^th July in aid of Thames Air Ambulance. We chose this charity in memory of Brian Smith, who had requested them to benefit from donations at his funeral. Thank you everyone for your generosity, as we collected £584.
I had a thank you email from them, and they very much appreciated our donation.

We have supported this charity for many years and will do so again this year. It is a Sims pairs event, and you can compare your result nationally with other clubs on the same day. We donate our table money and ask for extra donations on the night. Thank you for your support on this.

We have entered just two teams this year. David is captain of the B team, and I am captain of the A team. I have my first match next week. If you are interested in seeing how we get on during the season, there is a link on our website. Good luck to both teams.

Please come along from 6.30 for drinks and nibbles before our normal pairs evening, starting at 7.15. This will be a host evening, so please come with or without a partner.

We have been monitoring this now for some months since I mentioned it at the AGM. We have discussed that everyone will need to get out their own chair on arrival and this has happened some weeks. But I have found that there is always a band of willing helpers that arrive early enough to help put the chairs around, and I am very grateful that they are willing to do this. So, in my opinion, if you are happy to put some chairs around on arrival, then that will be brilliant and please continue to do this. Your help is much appreciated.
